![]() ![]() Powertoys cannot be run, windows doesn't detect it, services are deleted, however, the powertoys installer STILL detects an old version of powertoys and thus will not let me run the setup. The Screen Ruler PowerToy added with version 0.62.0 allows users to quickly measure pixels on their screen based on image edge detection. I've deleted every file and containing "PowerToys" on my machine, and I've cleared multiple registry entries. When I tried to uninstall these the setup again failed because a version was already installed (Why does the uninstaller fail to run if a different version is installed?)Īt this point I resorted to deleting everything related to powertoys myself. I tried to uninstall powertoys through windows, there it showed 2 installed versions, 0.70.0 and 0.71.0. ![]() Running the installer from github fails, because it said another version is already detected. Users are encouraged to update to this version for better performance and to benefit from the new features and improvements. This update failed, I didn't use my machine for a while and now came back to try to just install 0.72.0 to update my powertoys installation. The PowerToys v0.72.0 release is a significant update with many improvements and fixes, showcasing Microsoft's commitment to providing tools that enhance productivity and user experience.
